Sony announced partnership with Intersil, an US security surveillance camera chipset manufacture, on April 5, 2011, according to the Japan Today. Sony is projected to adopt Intersil's SLOC (Security Link Over Coax) technology. It is scheduled that Sony's cameras equipped with the SLOC technology will be released in the second half of fiscal 2011 ending in March 2012. It is reported that the SLOC-based cameras will be able to transmit high-definition digital images via a cable for analog images.
